Peter J. Bruckshaw - Helping Families Transition through Separation and Divorce

About Us

Peter Bruckshaw is a partner at St. Mary's Law LLP and is a member of the firm’s Family Law Practice Group.   Peter graduated with a B.A. (1st Class Hons.) in 1985, and graduated from the University of Manitoba Faculty of Law in 1988.   While in Law school Peter was awarded the Harry Walsh Prize and the Canada Law Book Prize for academic achievement.

Since his call to the Bar in 1989 Mr. Bruckshaw has practiced exclusively in the area of family law.   He has represented clients at all court levels, including the Manitoba Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court of Canada.   Mr. Bruckshaw has for several years practiced in counsel assisted mediation, and collaborative law, helping clients resolve matters quickly and amicably without going to Court.

In 1995 Peter Bruckshaw was elected to the Manitoba Bar Association Family Section Executive.   He has also served on the Canadian Bar Association National Legal Aid Liaison Committee and presently serves on the Law Society of Manitoba legal fees arbitration panel.   Peter has been a guest lecturer for the Law Society of Manitoba articling student program, and a presenter at numerous Manitoba Bar Association programs.   Peter is a member of the Manitoba Bar Association Family Law section.
